We value our interns who work hard to develop and facilitate community-driven intergenerational urban agriculture education!
Caitlin Hawkins
Summer 2014 Caitlin worked as our 2014 summer intern. She helped to facilitate our Y.O.U. students, plan garden events, and assisted in the development and facilitation of our senior program. She was also in charge of the First Farmers program, where she was able to use her creativity to plan lessons for our young farmers. As an intern, Caitlin also created an organization system for our garden shed and updated our website and social media pages.
Johntez Tunkara
Summer 2013 Johntez came to City Rising Farm as a Y.O.U. summer employee and has taken the ball an run with it. He heads up our Teen Advisory Council, recruiting teens for City Rising Farm and engaging them through the Menu For The Future curriculum.
Johntez is also the lead youth member of our intergenerational program. |

Leah Smith
Summer 2013 Leah worked as our 2013 summer intern and impressed us with her ability to to work with everyone and make everyone feel important! We can't wait until she graduates and comes back home to NEO! She's one of the newest members of City Rising Farm. If you liked our stepped up social media presence it's Leah who got us there!!
Marcus Perry
Summer 2012 Marcus was our very first intern and he set the tone and standard for those that came after him. He was so engaged with the gardeners and as a member of the immediate community surrounding City Rising Farm he was able to provide information and guidance to our young people that was truly invaluable!
