Cleveland: Plug Into Pull!

Artist William Pope.L and SPACES invite you to be a part of Pull!, an unprecedented, citywide performance about what works means to Cleveland.   Non-stop from June 7-9, hundreds of Clevelanders will manually pull a truck across the city, from North Collinwood to Ohio City.  Images collected from people across Cleveland-- hopefully you included!-- about the meaning of work in our lives will be projected from the truck as it is pulled through the city. Pull! is a massive group effort, and we can't do it without you!  Sign up to Pull! by May 20, and submit your images by April 30.

Want to get even more involved? Join us for a gathering at SPACES with other Pull! project partners about how you can invite your own networks of people into this tremendous community effort!

Please RSVP to pull@spacesgallery.org or 216-621-2314.

At the heart of Pull! is a city-wide conversation about what work-- or lack of work-- means to people in Cleveland.  Join us on Thursday, May 30 for a community forum on jobs, joblessness and opportunities for improving employment in Cleveland.

Community Forum on Work
With the Neighborhood Leadership Institute, Neighborhood Connections, Policy Matters Ohio and SPACES
Thursday, May 30, 6:30-8:30 PM
Location TBA

Please spread the word to anyone who might be interested in taking part in Pull!, and invite your friends on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/315591868543467/?fref=ts

Let's co-create the Cleveland TimeBank!

Cleveland TimeBank General Assembly
Wednesday, May 15th 5pm

Please join us for our first General Assembly!

We'd like to invite all Cleveland TimeBank members and anyone who is interested in being a part of the TimeBank to our first organizational and planning meeting, a.k.a "General Assembly."

The Cleveland TimeBank was launched in August 2012 by the Stockyard, Clark-Fulton, Brooklyn Centre Community Development Office (SCFBC).  SCFBC has always envisioned that the TimeBank would evolve into a community group that was led and managed by its members.

Interest in the TimeBank is growing quickly, and it's going to take many hands to help build the group.  Over the next few months members will gather to establish an organizational structure for the TimeBank including values, decision making processes, and teams for managing daily operations.

At this first meeting we will discuss consideration of our organizational structure and leave with several working groups. Please come prepared to actively participate; members will be making the decisions on structure and roles of the working groups, not simply providing feedback!

DATE: Wednesday May 15, 5 pm - 6:15 pm

LOCATION: 3176 Fulton Road, Cleveland, OH 44109

- in the first floor lobby of the Lin Omni building, located across the street from Johnny's Bar, next to St. Rocco's church.

TRANSPORTATION: The building is on the 79A/B bus line and is a 1/2 mile walk from the intersection of Clark Ave and W. 25th St. (bus lines 35, 20, or 22).  If you need a ride, please post a request on the facebook group or contact Christina and we'll do our best to find you a ride.

Everyone is welcome to attend the GA, even if you haven't attended a potluck or skill-share yet.  Feel free to bring anyone who is interested in participating in growing the TimeBank!

If you have questions, please contact Christina Keegan at ckeegan@dscdo.org or216-961-9073 x206.

Food Not Lawns, Cleveland

-Crown Point Ecology Center (www.crownpt.org)  is having their annual plant sale, May 18, 2013. People arrive before 9:00 a.m.for this.  Members preview, Friday eve. May 17 (check time).
Food Not Lawns, Cleveland has been invited to have a table. We will have our spot under the pine trees again, where we had books for sale, pictures to share and seed balls to make and take!  Would anyone like to volunteer for this event?  It's quite pleasant under the trees, even on a hot day.  I have been asked to give a 1 hour presentation, but the rest of the time will be at the table (and you can go to the plant sale!).
